Artist Statement
I believe that art should be something that is pleasing to see for whoever might look upon it, not just the avid art collector.

Painting Process
I paint subject matter that excites me. If my subject does not move me, my viewers will not be either.
I begin the process by taking many photographs. In the studio I work on design by doing many small “thumbnail” sketches in pencil. Before I begin the painting, I paint a small color sketch which serves as a guide to my final painting. In watercolor, many times you only get one try to get it right. The color sketch also serves as a warm up for me before plunging into that beautiful large sheet of watercolor paper.
